Job Summary:
The Culinary Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the preparation, serving, and handling of food in accordance with federal and state regulations and the dietary program implemented by Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Dining Service
1. Prepare and serve food in accordance with nutritional guidelines, local health department regulations, and resident's individual prescribed diet and food preferences.
2. Ensure timely delivery of food and maintain a pleasant dining experience for residents.
3. Coordinate food service for special events as requested.
4. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to infection control standards.
Regulatory Compliance and Sanitation
1. Ensure compliance with local health department regulations and Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures.
2. Maintain CPR & First Aid certification.
Requirements:
1. Experience in cooking for large groups.
2. Ability to read, write, and speak English.
3. Desire to work with older adults, possessing a friendly and caring disposition.
4. Must be 18 years of age and have a satisfactory criminal history check.
5. Must have a physical exam by a licensed physician and a negative drug screen.
Physical Job Requirements:
To fulfill job requirements, the employee must be able to perform key physical tasks for extended periods. Proper body mechanics and safety measures as prescribed by the residence must be used.
