The Senior Manager of Creative Technology spearheads a team dedicated to prototyping innovative concepts utilizing the latest technologies alongside cutting-edge user experience across various sectors.

This role will oversee a small group of creative technologists collaborating closely with our research team, comprised of seasoned and visionary thinkers who conceptualize mid-future scenarios in home improvement and retail.

The Senior Manager will be accountable for driving and executing a strategic roadmap for technology prototypes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to the team, including setting clear objectives, assigning tasks, and ensuring effective collaboration.
  • Drive and implement a strategic roadmap for technology prototypes, aligning with Lowe's goals and objectives by identifying emerging technologies and prioritizing development.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to gather requirements, feedback, and integrate it into the prototype development process.
  • Establish robust testing and quality assurance processes to ensure prototypes meet high standards of functionality, usability, and performance.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of prototypes, collecting user feedback and identifying areas for enhancement, iterating based on insights and lessons learned.
  • Apply knowledge of emerging technologies and software development principles.
  • Foster a culture of innovation within the team, promoting an environment that encourages creativity and exploration.
  • Encourage continuous learning by staying informed on emerging trends, industry advancements, and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Manage project budgets, optimizing resource allocation, and making informed decisions regarding technology investments.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in software development or a related field, focusing on interactive experiences in gaming or real-time systems.
  • 6 years of experience working on projects throughout all phases of the development cycle.
  • 5 years of experience in hardware/software prototyping, with a portfolio showcasing relevant work.
  • 5 years of experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in C++/C#.
  • Strong skills in 3D mathematics.
  • Creative and UX elements evident in prototype work.
  • Deep understanding of established programming design patterns.
  • Self-motivated problem-solver.
  • Experience in Computer Vision.
  • In-depth knowledge of Unity and Unreal Engines.
  • Experience with AR/VR technologies.
  • Experience in electronic hardware prototyping (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
  • Experience in building rapid prototypes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related field.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic, start-up-like environment and deliver results.
