The Senior Manager of Creative Technology will oversee a team dedicated to prototyping innovative concepts using the latest technologies and advanced user experiences across various sectors.

This role will manage a select group of creative technologists collaborating closely with our research team, which consists of seasoned and visionary thinkers tasked with conceptualizing mid-future scenarios in home improvement and retail.

The Senior Manager will be accountable for steering and implementing a strategic roadmap for technology prototypes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to the team, establishing clear objectives, delegating tasks, and ensuring effective teamwork.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for technology prototypes that aligns with Lowe's and the Lab's overarching goals. This includes identifying emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact, and prioritizing development efforts.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to gather requirements, solicit feedback, and integrate insights into the prototype development process.
  • Establish rigorous testing and quality assurance protocols to ensure prototypes meet high standards of functionality, usability, and performance.
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of prototypes, collecting user feedback and identifying areas for enhancement, while iterating and refining based on insights gained.
  • Leverage knowledge of emerging technologies and software development principles.
  • Foster a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging creativity and exploration.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends, industry advancements, and cutting-edge technologies to promote ongoing learning.
  • Manage project budgets effectively, optimizing resource allocation and making informed decisions regarding technology investments.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in software development or a related field, focusing on interactive experiences in gaming or real-time applications.
  • 6 years of experience managing projects through all phases of the development lifecycle.
  • 5 years of experience in hardware/software prototyping, with a portfolio showcasing relevant work.
  • 5 years of experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in C++/C# programming.
  • Strong mathematical skills, particularly in 3D mathematics.
  • Demonstrated creativity and user experience expertise in prototype development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of established programming design patterns.
  • Self-driven problem-solver.
  • Experience in computer vision.
  • In-depth knowledge of Unity and Unreal Engines.
  • Familiarity with AR/VR technologies.
  • Experience with electronic hardware prototyping (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
  • Proven ability to create rapid prototypes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, start-up-like environment and achieve results.

Compensation
Salary range: $169,000 - $322,100 annually. Starting pay may vary based on factors such as position, location, education, training, and experience. For details on our benefits programs and eligibility, please refer to our Associate Benefits information.
