Role Overview: Demand Planner

The Demand Planner is responsible for pre-production planning and inventory oversight, creating and executing future fulfillment strategies by analyzing discrepancies between historical data and anticipated product performance. This role collaborates proactively with cross-functional teams, including merchandise planners, buyers, and operations, playing a vital role in shaping seasonal inventory targets and financial plans for each department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee product flow from vendor production to distribution centers and retail locations, ensuring effective setup and maintenance of replenishment and allocation systems while providing projections to business partners.
  • Collaborate with merchants and planners on replenishment strategies, projections, re-orders, and open-to-buy processes.
  • Work alongside Merchandise Planners and Planning Managers to contribute to receipt plans.
  • Ensure timely flow of new products through distribution centers and maintain visibility on product arrival expectations in stores.
  • Manage order flow and address exceptions to fulfill customer commitments.
  • Analyze data and apply insights to projections and seasonal profiles to accurately reflect current trends.
  • Provide size breakdowns for new style setups.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Background:

A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Professional Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in demand planning, merchandise planning, or retail buying is required.

Required Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

Travel Expectations:

Minimal travel is required.

Additional Requirements:

Knowledge and expertise in fashion and retail replenishment systems are necessary.
