Position Overview:

The Membership Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in enhancing member experiences by managing membership sales and verification through the Point of Sale (POS) system. This position not only provides essential information and addresses inquiries regarding various programs but also assumes a leadership position over the Customer Service Associate role, stepping in for the Sales Manager when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver exceptional customer service to the community.
  2. Ensure prompt and courteous service for all customers, clients, and members.
  3. Act as an ambassador for the organization by conducting tours, promoting the center, and facilitating membership sales as directed.
  4. Manage cash transactions, provide change, and proficiently operate the Frontline computer software.
  5. Assist customers, clients, and members in accordance with established protocols.
  6. Promote and sell programs and special events, offering insightful recommendations tailored to the interests of members.
  7. Handle incoming calls, visitors, and emails with professionalism and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff or programs promptly.
  8. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all programs, facilities, and special events.
  9. Identify potential scholarship candidates among customers, clients, and members, and assist with the scholarship application process.
  10. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the POS stations and kiosks, maintaining a tidy sales area at all times.
  11. Secure the POS area at the beginning and end of each shift.
  12. Contribute to the cleanliness and neat appearance of public spaces.
  13. Take initiative in resolving member and facility issues by notifying the relevant department or manager or addressing minor issues directly.
  14. Provide administrative support, including filing, data entry, and mailing tasks.
  15. Assist the Sales Manager with various tasks and projects as needed.
  16. Support daily financial reconciliations.
  17. Adhere to operational policies and procedures established by the organization.
  18. Follow all safety regulations and protocols.
  19. Participate in staff meetings as required.
  20. Offer referral information to meet the needs of individuals and families.
  21. Comply with grooming and uniform standards set by the organization.
  22. Report any injuries promptly and according to established procedures.
  23. Complete child safety training as mandated by the organization.
  24. Represent the spiritual and social mission of The Salvation Army.
  25. Engage in training sessions to enhance sales strategies.
  26. Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role.

Qualifications:

  • Must obtain First Aid & CPR certification within the first month of employment.
  • Ability to work effectively and build rapport with diverse individuals.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Experience with computer software applications is advantageous; ability to learn new software with basic training.
  • Strong communication skills with clientele and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage positively and energetically with staff, clients, members, and customers.
  • Maintain a non-judgmental attitude while interacting with customers, clients, members, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
