Job Summary

Cornell University is seeking a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team at Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the Long Island team in our innovative and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and assess conditions of in-house patients, administer prescribed medications, and perform regular scheduled treatments.
  • Setup, assist during, and cleanup after endoscopy, ultrasound, imaging, and other equipment needed for medical and surgical procedures.
  • Handle emergency and critical inpatients, call in personnel as needed, and support quality patient care in all aspects of hospital operations.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA accredited institution, plus NYS Licensure or eligibility to be licensed.
  • One to two years' experience as a licensed vet technician or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Proficiency with patient tracking software.
  • Excellent communication, team building, flexibility, and organizational skills.
