Responsibilities

The Director of Risk Management is responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure. The structure and functions of the Risk Management Program are designed so as to comply with guidelines and standards of regulatory agencies and the hospital's risk management program.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or other mental health related program.
  • Experience: Five years clinical experience in a psychiatric in-patient facility with knowledge of high-risk areas. Three years management experience related to the current position.
  • License/Certification: None.
  • Skills: Knowledge of hospital operations, risk identification, assessment and reduction and claims management; excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
