Healthcare Support Specialist

The Healthcare Support Specialist will play a crucial role in aiding physicians with diverse aspects of patient care, including administrative, environmental, and organizational responsibilities, ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction.
Key responsibilities will encompass measuring vital signs, registering patients, coordinating tests, exams, and treatments, as well as managing supplies and maintaining cleanliness in examination areas.
This role will function in a dual capacity; at times, the individual will operate as a Healthcare Support Specialist, preparing and triaging patients, managing supplies, and cleaning rooms. At other times, the individual will engage in administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting with patient check-in and check-out processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct vital signs, specimen testing, and EKGs as required.
- Organize the daily patient schedule, welcome patients, and assign examination rooms.
- Order necessary supplies for the unit.
- Maintain competency standards.
- Coordinate the ordering of blood products in collaboration with nursing staff, the Blood Bank, and the Laboratory.
- Greet each individual entering the clinic, introduce oneself and explain processes to new patients while assisting with documentation.
- Participate in interdisciplinary activities such as staff meetings and committees as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a visible presence in the clinic, ensuring accessibility to customers.
- Anticipate and respond to customer needs effectively.
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations as a team member.
- Assist in patient registration, including verification of health insurance coverage.
- Report any situations that may compromise the safety of patients, visitors, and staff immediately.
- Provide front desk coverage as assigned.
- Continuously monitor the environment and facilitate corrections to maintain the clinic's appearance, comfort, and safety.
- Account for all customers in the clinic.
- Oversee lobby and waiting room coordination.
- Act as a liaison between customers and clinic staff.
- Collect copayments daily and ensure accurate balancing at the end of each day.
- Coordinate scheduling for tests and manage the bone marrow biopsy schedule for multiple practitioners.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in patient care is preferred.
- Salaries range from $25.57 hourly.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
- CPR certification is required based on AHA standards, including both a theoretical and practical demonstration component.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Act 34 clearance.
