We are in search of a skilled Healthcare Support Specialist to become part of our team. In this role, you will deliver direct assistance to patients, which includes welcoming and preparing them for appointments, collecting and recording medical information, and performing basic procedures under the guidance of a physician or nurse practitioner.

The health center offers a structured career advancement path for the Healthcare Support Specialist role, recognizing enhanced experience, skill level, responsibilities, and certifications, with corresponding increases in compensation for Levels I ($16.50 per hour) to IV ($19.50 per hour).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients, gather their medical histories, and confirm patient details.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including measuring vital signs and conducting necessary tests.
  • Assist during medical examinations and treatments.
  • Conduct ancillary testing and tasks as instructed by the healthcare provider, including EKGs, injections, and blood draws.
  • Engage in pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient records before appointments, ensuring all recent test results and communications are included, and identifying required services per health center protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
  • CPR certification required.

Experience:

  • Experience in a family practice or community health center setting is preferred.
  • Experience with pediatrics is an advantage.
