Psychiatric Care Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Provider to join our team at the University of Dayton Counseling Center. As a member of our clinical team, you will provide psychiatric care and medication management to students within our university community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient assessment and diagnosis, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, and evaluate and manage medications.
- Work collaboratively with the psychiatrist to provide patient care and support.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff to promote mental health and wellness.
- Participate in the development and implementation of mental health programs and services.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in psychiatric care and medication management.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Practice or Master's Degree in Nursing and graduation from an ANA-approved Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Current NCCPA certification and current/unrestricted license to practice in the state of Ohio, including prescriptive authority.
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric clinic setting.
- Registration or eligibility to register with the Ohio Automated Rx Reporting System (OARRS).
- Experience in delivering high-quality, client-centered psychiatric care.
- Able to document and navigate EHR independently.
- Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of mental health professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMHNP and Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) OR Psychiatry CAQ from NCCPA.
- Experience with young adult mental health.
- Valid DEA number and unrestricted DEA license in Ohio or eligibility to obtain DEA license in Ohio.
- Complex case management experience.
