Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Tech to join our team at Texoma Medical Center. As a Mental Health Tech, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct visual observations of patients to identify potential safety risks and report any abnormalities to the RN STAT
* Perform and document searches and belongings inventories according to policy
* Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care
* Communicate effectively with patients and families to understand their needs and concerns
* Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements:
* Reading and numerical competency
* 2-year college degree in Behavioral Science or Nursing, or Emergency Medical Technician certification
* Prior experience in a JCAHO-accredited hospital on a psychiatric or chemical dependency unit is preferred
* Ability to work with patients at all levels of functional ability and from diverse backgrounds
* BLS (AHA CPR) course completion before hire
