Position Summary

We are seeking a talented Autonomous Systems Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the design, testing, and implementation of perception-driven autonomous systems. If you thrive in tackling complex, interdisciplinary challenges and enjoy solving critical business issues with minimal supervision and a high level of accountability, this role is for you. As an Autonomous Systems Architect, you will collaborate closely with seasoned engineering professionals, gaining invaluable experience while contributing to the design, integration, and enhancement of state-of-the-art technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a reliable technical authority on high-reliability, safety-critical autonomous systems, managing system-level requirements, CONOPS, metrics, and testing coverage to ensure the delivery of safe and robust autonomous solutions.
  • Assist in defining, decomposing, and tracing system and subsystem requirements across hardware, software, and product functionalities.
  • Develop frameworks and conduct trade studies to optimize performance, safety, and cost across various subsystems.
  • Support the establishment of criteria for internal and external metrics, performance, and safety standards.
  • Define release standards and validation processes, collaborating with engineering and field operations teams to ensure systems function as intended.
  • Guide design decisions, trade-offs, and compliance with safety-critical systems, regulations, and standards.
  • Create fault trees and other mathematical models for quantitative risk assessment.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Architect or Systems Engineer for complex or safety-critical systems.
  • Demonstrated capability to independently resolve intricate multidisciplinary challenges.
  • Successful track record in implementing program requirements, including processes, definition, decomposition, and verification.
  • Experience with systems designed to withstand extreme environmental conditions, mechanical vibrations, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and high electrical noise.
  • Expertise in developing fail-safe fault-tolerant modes and fail-operative modes that maintain system functionality despite faults.
  • Proficient in utilizing various tools for systems modeling and statistical analysis to effectively address and resolve issues.
  • A keen attention to both broad concepts and intricate details.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262, ISO 21448, ISO 18497, or similar standards for L4/L5 autonomous vehicles.
  • Experience in simulating and modeling physical hardware/software systems or employing data-driven modeling and analysis techniques.
  • Background in reliability modeling, including field data analysis.
  • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems, safety, or related engineering with a focus on high-integrity systems analysis.
  • Prior experience in obtaining regulatory approvals for greenfield applications.
