Manicure and Pedicure Specialist

OVERVIEW: This role is dedicated to delivering expert nail care services that elevate the aesthetic appeal of hands and feet through manicures and pedicures, ensuring an exceptional and upscale spa experience for guests at Kingsmill Resort. This position reports directly to the Spa Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers manicures and pedicures, which include filing, buffing, trimming, and polishing nails, as well as managing cuticles and hydrating the skin on hands and feet to achieve a polished, healthy, and attractive look.
- Maintains a safe and sanitized work area, ensuring that all equipment is in optimal condition. Reports any issues to management, disinfects tools used during services, and keeps the area tidy by sweeping floors, organizing magazines, and dusting surfaces.
- Sanitizes pedicure tubs thoroughly after each client.
- Manages product inventory for services and communicates with management to place orders before supplies run low.
- Provides specialized services for younger guests as part of the Spa Kids Kamp.
- Promotes and sells retail products used during services to enhance guest experience and increase spa revenue.
- Stays informed about the latest industry trends and actively seeks opportunities for professional development through company-sponsored training.
- Recommends new products for the nail salon and suggests retail items to management.
- Immediately reports any unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to management.
- Adheres to product and spa protocols.
- Ensures guest comfort by offering beverages and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with guests.
- Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
- Exhibits reliability, punctuality, and strong organizational skills.
- Possesses the physical stamina to perform all job functions, including standing, sitting, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs. for an 8-hour shift.
- Communicates effectively with guests and team members to assess their needs.
- Works well independently with minimal supervision.
- Holds a valid Nail Technician License issued by the Virginia Board for Barbers and Cosmetology.
- Has a High School Diploma or GED.
- Brings at least 1 year of experience in a nail salon, preferably in a resort or high-traffic environment.
- Retail sales experience is advantageous.
- Available to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
