Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Part-time Deskside Support Technician to join our team in Washington, DC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to end-users, configuring and maintaining workstation and network infrastructure, and performing analysis and diagnosis of technical problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, maintain, monitor, and support workstation and network infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows systems and peripherals.
  • Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of end-users' technical problems.
  • Receive and respond to incoming tickets, documenting all steps taken to resolve issues.
  • Accurately document instances of hardware and software failure, repair, installation, and removal.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform server OS improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Support development and implementation of new server projects and new hardware installations.
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs.
  • Liaise with third-party support and server equipment vendors as necessary.
  • Aid in the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Windows and user workstations.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP network protocols, firewall management, and security solutions.
  • Working technical knowledge of infrastructure and supporting technologies such as SAN or NAS storage, Active Directory/Global Catalog.
  • Knowledgeable of backup/restore solutions and anti-virus solutions.
  • Must be within driving or walking distance of Washington, DC and willing to work onsite.
  • Must be willing to work part-time.
  • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status.
