Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-time Deskside Support Technician to join our team in Washington, DC. As a key member of our IT support team, you will provide technical assistance to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and maintain the overall workstation, server, and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, maintain, monitor, and support the overall workstation, server, and network infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows systems and peripherals, and end-user adjacent network devices such as wireless access points.
  • Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of end-users' technical problems and recommend and implement corrective hardware and/or software solutions.
  • Receive and respond to incoming tickets, documenting all steps taken to resolve issues in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Accurately document instances of hardware and software failure, repair, installation, and removal, including root cause investigation.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform server OS improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Support development and implementation of new server projects and new hardware installations.
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs.
  • Liaise with third-party support and server equipment vendors.
  • Aid in the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Provide guidance to junior members of the team as required.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Windows and user workstations.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP network protocols, firewall management, and security solutions.
  • Working technical knowledge of infrastructure and supporting technologies such as SAN or NAS storage, Active Directory/Global Catalog.
  • Knowledgeable of backup/restore solutions and anti-virus solutions.
  • Must be within driving or walking distance of Washington, DC and willing to work onsite.
  • Must be willing to work part-time.
