Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Mass Spectrometry Division's Quadrupole R&D group. As a key member of our team, you will actively participate in high-profile projects, contributing to the development of groundbreaking technology and making a lasting impact.

Responsibilities
  • Characterize instrument performance across various scenarios, including corner cases and best-case scenarios.
  • Conduct scientific experiments to stress and push our instruments to their limits.
  • Implement validation plans to establish instrument specifications.
Collaboration and Multifunctional Support
  • Work closely with the core team, filling gaps and sharing your unique insight and knowledge on ongoing projects.
  • Collaborate with experienced instrumentation scientists, chemists, and engineers to develop mass spectrometry instrumentation.
  • Adept a multifunctional role, potentially working with other groups such as software and marketing, using your knowledge and insight.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a PhD in a relevant technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Must have graduated within the last 2 years or currently be part of a college or university postdoc program. Also, should not have worked in industry after graduating with a PhD, in chemistry, biochemistry, or related discipline with LC/MS experience.
  • Hands-on experience in conducting experiments in mass spectrometry and chromatography (LC/MS and GC/MS).
  • Familiarity with a variety of sample introduction methods such as infusion, gas chromatography, and liquid chromatography.
  • Hands-on experience with Agilent acquisition systems: Mass-Hunter, Chem-Station, OpenLab CDS, etc.
  • Proficiency in scientific programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or SimION.
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience in developing and optimizing Mass Spectrometry methods and databases for various applied markets or applications.
  • Experience with tuning and operating triple quadrupole or quadrupole time of flight mass spectrometers and analyzing complex data.
  • Ability to take a hands-on approach in developing and troubleshooting their own work. Also, should show initiative in moving a project forward and seeking help from team members when needed.
  • Proficiency in presenting results in sales presentations, technical meetings, and/or publishing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced level experience operating Agilent mass spectrometers and MassHunter software tools is a plus.
  • Experience in specific application areas such as extractable and leachable, bio/pharma, food, environmental and/or Omics research.

The US pay rate for this position is $50.88-$54.06 per hour, plus eligibility for paid holidays and medical benefits. Our pay rates are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including any job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training.
