Job Overview:


The role is pivotal in delivering exceptional guest service by building rapport with guests, offering tailored service, and anticipating their needs.

The Beverage Service Assistant understands the drink menus, foresees the requirements of the bartenders to ensure all items and supplies are readily available.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously maintain and enhance service standards, ensuring adherence to all hotel protocols and local regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards. Prepare for health department inspections as required.
  • Possess knowledge of various alcoholic beverages and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverage offerings.
  • Execute all necessary bar tasks in accordance with the hotel's standard operating procedures, including setting up bars with glassware and beverages, polishing glassware, preparing garnishes, stocking ice, and managing the breakdown and storage of beverage requisitions.
  • Complete all assigned banquet sidework, including cleaning bar and beverage equipment, portable bars, and the surrounding areas.
  • Assist in the setup and takedown of all banquet bar areas.
  • Adhere to proper waste disposal procedures.
  • Complete all necessary daily documentation such as bar requisitions, count logs, and waste logs.
  • Collaborate with bartenders to ensure all necessary supplies are stocked throughout events.
  • Contribute to the sanitation and timing of service in all restaurant areas, ensuring prompt delivery and quality control.
  • Follow proper service procedures, ensuring high-quality bar setups, service, food quality, and presentation.
  • Report any housekeeping or maintenance needs for banquet areas and equipment to management.
  • Maintain all furniture, fixtures, and equipment to a high standard, minimizing breakage through careful handling.
  • Assist in managing food and beverage quantities to avoid over-preparation or shortages.
  • Ensure positive guest interactions and respond effectively to complaints, taking appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into returning customers.
  • Respond to guest requests accurately and promptly, creating memorable experiences.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel amenities and local attractions, such as nearby entertainment and theaters.
  • Attend daily meetings to gather relevant information prior to events.
  • Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of all restaurant spaces, both front of house and back of house.
  • Execute all necessary instructions on Restaurant Event Orders.
  • Foster mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among colleagues, treating them fairly and equitably.
  • Maintain a professional, tidy, and organized appearance in accordance with Omni standards.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to any emergency or safety situations, ensuring a safe working and guest environment to minimize injury or accidents.
  • Attend all required departmental training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must possess hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a solid understanding of the hospitality industry.
  • A minimum of relevant bar experience in a large convention hotel is strongly preferred.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours during busy periods and high-profile events, including nights, weekends, and holidays is essential.
  • Highly developed customer service skills, with a friendly demeanor and strong problem-solving abilities, along with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to engage with guests at all levels, demonstrating a passion for providing warm, personalized service.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Must be capable of handling the pressures of busy hotel operations while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Punctuality and reliability in reporting to work as scheduled are required.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods is necessary.
  • Must adhere to appearance standards and maintain a high level of personal hygiene at all times.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills are essential. Candidates must be comfortable interacting with guests and able to communicate effectively in English with guests, management, and colleagues.

Computer literacy required:
Familiarity with payroll systems, Micros, and POS systems

  • Serve Safe certification | Unexpired TIPs required.
