Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the Town of Huntersville, NC. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol and Response: Patrol assigned areas, respond to emergency calls, and provide assistance to the public.
  • Investigations: Conduct investigations of accidents, crimes, and other incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
  • Community Policing: Develop and maintain positive relationships with the community, providing education and outreach services to promote public safety.
  • Enforcement: Enforce traffic laws, issue citations and warnings, and make arrests as necessary.
  • Specialized Assignments: Participate in specialized units, such as narcotics, juvenile, and arson investigations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 60 college credit hours or an associate's degree.
  • Experience: At least 0-4 years of experience as a sworn law enforcement officer, or currently enrolled in Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET).
  • Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to stress and high-pressure situations. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
