Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the Huntersville Police Department. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol and Response: Patrol assigned areas, respond to emergency calls, and provide assistance to the public.
  • Investigations: Conduct investigations of accidents, crimes, and other incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
  • Community Engagement: Develop and maintain positive relationships with the community, providing education and outreach on crime prevention and public safety.
  • Enforcement: Enforce laws and regulations, issuing citations and making arrests as necessary.
  • Special Assignments: Participate in special assignments, such as SWAT, K-9, and crisis negotiations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with some college coursework in law enforcement or a related field.
  • Experience: 0-4 years of experience as a sworn law enforcement officer, with some experience in patrol and response.
  • Certifications: Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license and completion of a Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to stress and danger. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
