Position Overview:
We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Fairmont, MN office.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Staff Accountant, your essential duties will include:
- Preparing and reviewing tax computations for various forms including 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065
- Developing and reviewing tax strategies
- Managing monthly bookkeeping tasks
- Conducting bank reconciliations
- Maintaining payroll records
- Preparing compiled and reviewed financial statements
- Updating client depreciation schedules
- Staying informed on current tax regulations, technologies, and software
- Providing exceptional client service and support for accounting inquiries
Work Schedule:
This position may allow for remote work. The anticipated workload will be approximately 50-60 hours per week during peak tax season and 24-32 hours per week during the off-peak period.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or two to four years of relevant experience
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience with accounting and tax software
