Traveling Project Engineer

Kokosing, one of America's 60 largest General Contractors, seeks a skilled Traveling Project Engineer to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil infrastructure federal contracts and be able to lead a team of professionals to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and at least 2 years of experience in a related field. They will be proficient in CPM scheduling programs, such as Primavera Project Planner, and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

The role will involve travel throughout the Mid-West and Mid-Atlantic regions, with the possibility of settling in the Mid-Atlantic region long term. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities for heavy civil infrastructure federal contracts, ensuring that project goals are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.

The scope of this role may include leading a single mega project or a group of projects in a specific market segment, using varied contract procurement methodologies. The successful candidate will be able to analyze and understand plans and specifications, follow administrative procedures, and possess field experience in inspecting construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans and construction/safety standards.

The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively with the project team, owners, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget. They will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and be able to interpret and apply technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
