About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Infection Prevention Coordinator to join our team at Extended Care Clinical. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and action plans to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
  • Collaborate with facility leaders, physicians, and external agencies to promote infection prevention best practices and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Oversee the operations of infection prevention, epidemiology, industrial hygiene, and relevant safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Participate in national collaboratives and external reporting to the CDC NHSN system and other post-acute care quality organizations to stay up-to-date on the latest infection prevention strategies and trends.
  • Provide education and training to staff, volunteers, and medical staff on infection prevention practices and protocols to ensure a culture of safety and compliance.
Requirements
  • Current Illinois RN or LPN license.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
  • Ability to promote and facilitate teamwork and demonstrate a high standard of ethics.
