Job Title: RN Registered Nurse Specialist

Ascension Via Christi is seeking a highly skilled RN Registered Nurse Specialist to join our team in Wichita, Kansas. As a key member of our Infection Control team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing organization-wide infection control programs.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering the organization's Infection Control Plan, preparing the Infection Control Surveillance Summary, and developing policies and procedures to promote compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement organization-wide infection control programs.
  • Administer the organization's Infection Control Plan and prepare the Infection Control Surveillance Summary.
  • Develop policies and procedures to promote compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform infection surveillance and investigation.
  • Report infection control information to public health authorities as required by law.
  • Provide consultation, education, and training on infection control issues.
Requirements:
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    • Certification specializing in Infection Control required from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc.
    • Licensed Registered Nurse required from the Kansas Board of Nursing.
  • Education:
    • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Additional Preferences:

Five years of clinical experience, with Infection Prevention experience preferred.
