Infection Prevention Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Infection Prevention Coordinator to join our team at Extended Care Clinical. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control in our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement annual infection prevention goals and action plans
- Collaborate with facility leaders, physicians, and external agencies to promote infection prevention best practices
- Oversee the operations of infection prevention, epidemiology, and relevant safety programs
- Participate in national collaboratives and external reporting to CDC NHSN system and other post-acute care quality organizations
- Ensure staff, volunteers, and medical staff receive education and intervention when healthcare infection trends or outbreaks occur
Requirements:
- Current Illinois RN or LPN license
- Leadership and supervisory skills
- Knowledge of nursing and medical procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines
- Able to make independent decisions
