FHCSD is seeking a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant (RTA) to collaborate with a Physical Therapist in delivering care to patients facing various mobility, motor control, and musculoskeletal challenges, following the treatment protocols established by the supervising Physical Therapist.

As an RTA, you are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality rehabilitation services to a varied patient demographic, with a particular focus on the uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved.

You excel in a dynamic, team-oriented setting, understanding that your efforts contribute significantly to the well-being of your community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess physical therapy outcomes by observing and documenting patient progress.
  • Assist patients in achieving their goals and needs, facilitating the development or recovery of physical or mental functions, or aiding in adaptation to disabilities.
  • Encourage maximum independence by selecting and implementing therapies tailored to each individual's physical capabilities, cognitive levels, and interests.
  • Maintain effective communication with the supervising Physical Therapist, Case Managers, Scheduling personnel, and referring healthcare providers.

Qualifications:

  • California State licensure as a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant.
  • Current certification in CPR (BLS) from the American Heart Association, or equivalent advanced life support training.
  • Graduation from an accredited Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role; outpatient clinic experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
