At Zoetis Petcare Medical Affairs, we are a dedicated team of skilled therapeutic medical professionals who collaborate closely with marketing brand managers to devise effective strategies for our product lines. Our focus is on leading medical initiatives, generating valuable data, and executing educational projects, while serving as the medical authority in the review and creation of educational and promotional materials for our innovative petcare products and services.

This position demands a high level of collaboration, operating within a matrixed environment alongside various internal and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Brand Marketing Support
Engage proactively with brand marketing and medical teams to provide insights and messaging that guide the strategic development and execution of marketing plans, as well as responses to competitive products for both existing and future innovative launches.

Lead or co-lead the Therapeutic Focus Group, consisting of veterinary professionals.

Oversee the creation and guidance of technical content produced by agencies or Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) for products within the aligned portfolio; serve as a subject matter expert during the medical review of brand-related content in the Copy Review and Clearance process.

Develop expertise across the portfolio to ensure collaborative and coordinated medical support that aligns with business objectives and market trends.


Partnerships with Customers and KOLs
Direct key tactical customer initiatives and meetings based on brand strategy plans, including advisory board meetings, speakers' bureaus, and professional association management, as well as KOL development and engagement.

Work alongside Veterinary Professional Services teams to identify and nurture relationships with new KOLs from the field level.


Study Development with VMRD & External KOLs
Contribute to the assessment and identification of technical, medical, and business gaps for assigned products.

Establish or fulfill delegated liaison roles with key animal health organizations critical to the supported product or therapeutic area to enhance the reputation of Zoetis.

Identify emerging trends and market dynamics, collaborating across functional teams to contribute to data generation and study plans, including Phase IV studies (supporting marketed products), Phase III studies (new claims), and Outcomes Research, while monitoring progress, milestones, and budgets.


Internal Collaboration and Training
Advise and assist Learning and Development in both strategic focus and tactical execution of technical content within training programs and materials, ensuring consistency and clarity of key marketing messages and the medical appropriateness of product usage.

Identify the need for new and enhanced technical presentations, taking a leadership role in their development and communication to internal colleagues at all levels.


Organizational Effectiveness
Demonstrate the capability to lead and effectively implement initiatives with minimal oversight, showcasing a strong understanding of the organizational structure.

Foster ongoing collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Exhibit proficiency in project management, balancing personal workflow priorities with those of the team and business to meet key deliverable milestones; manage conflicts effectively with positive outcomes.

Comfortably navigate multi-disciplinary groups, advising and influencing management on technical issues.

Required Education/Experience
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
Advanced degree, specialized training, or research experience is a plus
7+ years of combined clinical and industry experience
Required Technical and Interpersonal Skills
Proficient in technical content creation
Strong strategic and analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse stakeholders
Adept at navigating regulatory and legal processes
Exhibit sound judgment in conflict management and influence
Travel Requirements
This position may require up to 25-30% travel for industry conferences, professional meetings, and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
