Job Title: Director, Public Relations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Public Relations to join our team at AEG. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive public relations strategy to raise awareness and positive perception of our brand, events, and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage a public relations strategy to maximize brand presence across business and endemic platforms.
  • Secure and maintain business and endemic media relationships for our region.
  • Oversee event communications, including local market outreach, positive promotion of events, onsite support, and media credentialing practices.
  • Support the Vice President of Global Communications in planning and executing major business announcements and projects.
  • Manage communication protocols for North America and Latin America around corporate, crisis, impact, and reputation situations.
  • Develop and manage holistic brand/sport-specific communication and PR strategies across event verticals.
  • Assist in leading Public Relations preparation and communications efforts for world championship and marquee events globally.
  • Find and research compelling human-interest stories to advocate through various mediums.
  • Collaborate with global marketing, social, digital, and content teams to amplify coverage and cross-company storytelling.
  • Measure and report strategy performance, identify opportunities, and implement action plans to improve.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Public Relations/Media industry.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, with willingness and ability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to perform as both a strategic thinker and tactical planner.
  • Demonstrated experience in special situation and crisis communications.
  • Solid creative abilities, as well as excellent project and people management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamically changing environment.
