Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Power Applications Developer to join our team. This role involves designing and maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) applications that facilitate daily operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Knowledge Management Officer (KMO) and Business Process Specialists to ensure that the development of SOCOM enterprise BI applications aligns with current workflows and enhances decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary developer, providing the KMO with insights and software development solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint, and Microsoft Dynamics) to fulfill business process requirements.
  • Deliver engineering solutions to address business challenges using standard features of enterprise software, including Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Dynamics, SharePoint, and Power BI. Develop customized capabilities as needed, utilizing SharePoint Designer and/or Power Apps.
  • Develop and maintain user guides and other documentation to support application development initiatives.
  • Design processing workflows using SharePoint Designer and/or Power Automate to facilitate information dissemination according to defined process maps.
  • Provide mentorship and training to KM Department personnel on Microsoft Power Platform applications and features to meet customer needs.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues related to BI solutions.
  • Participate in SOCOM and NSW Enterprise KM Developer meetings and working groups to share and learn best practices in enterprise BI.
  • Collaborate with the KMO and development teams to prepare for upcoming technology shifts and software deployments.
  • Utilize development environments to evaluate new technologies for meeting operational requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of KM policies, governance, and digital transformation initiatives, with experience in SOF preferred.
  • Proficient in SQL, SSRS, T-SQL, Excel Formulas, and DAX.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as an applications developer, particularly with SharePoint or similar applications like Microsoft Dynamics and the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Ability to operate IT systems with standard business software.
  • Capability to develop BI applications at the required classification level.
  • Possession of at least one IT professional certification, such as A+, Security+, or Network+.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Security Clearance:

Secret Clearance is mandatory.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
