The University of Kentucky College of Medicine seeks a visionary leader to serve as the Director of the Center for Health Equity and Transformation (CHET). As a key member of the college's leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the center's mission and initiatives, promoting health equity research, and fostering a culture of innovation and inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the research and training portfolio of CHET, ensuring the growth of health equity research through scholarly dissemination and promoting training programming.
- Support an inclusive environment for faculty, staff, and trainees within the center, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Promote mentoring of faculty, staff, and trainees in research and professional development, fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
- Facilitate an environment of collaborative research and conduct, maintaining records of accomplishments and supporting the acquisition of external funding.
- Maintain and expand University-wide and external partnerships to advance CHET's mission and initiatives, including pursuing philanthropic partnerships.
- Manage center resources and space to ensure effective and productive utilization.
- Sustain and grow the national and international reputation of the center in the field of health equity through professional, societal, and advocacy activities and the development of complex center grants.
- National recognition as demonstrated through involvement in academic and professional societies at a national level.
- Demonstrated leadership in administrative positions in medical school or an academic medical center setting.
- Proven record of recruitment and retention of talent.
- Experience developing collaborative initiatives and promoting a culture of innovation, inclusivity, collaboration, teamwork, respect, and honesty.
- Strong leadership skills as a listener, decision-maker, humanist, and effective advocate for the department, its divisions, and its faculty.
- Impeccable integrity and effective communication skills.
