Job Summary

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Records Program Manager to join our team. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of records management principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of electronic records management systems
  • Perform day-to-day records management tasks, including storage, retrieval, retention, and disposition of records
  • Train staff on procedures related to records management policies and ensure compliance with city policies and procedures
  • Collaborate on records management unit functions and projects, including retention schedule review, destruction requests, and scanning projects
  • Develop and implement agency records management policies and procedures
  • Maintain filing system procedures and classification indexes
  • Assign and manage file space, inventory boxes, and prepare materials for storage or transfer to the NYC Municipal Records Center
  • Work with staff to ensure all agency publications are submitted to the NYC Municipal Library
  • Inventory and catalog materials in the agency library and manage circulation using ResourceMate Plus
Requirements
  • Four-year high school diploma or equivalent and six years of professional experience in emergency management, fire, police, or military service, public safety, public health, public administration, urban planning, engineering, or a related field
  • Or a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of professional experience in the same fields
  • Or a master's degree from an accredited college in emergency management, public administration, urban planning, engineering, economics, political science, or a related field and one year of professional experience in the same fields
