Overview: Braxton-Grant Technologies, Inc. (BGCyberTech) is seeking a skilled Information Security Specialist to deliver technical assistance related to managing helpdesk inquiries and supporting product implementations. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining Cybersecurity solutions and protocols.
  • Planning, coordinating, executing, and supporting new IT and Cybersecurity systems, products, and applications.
  • Collaborating with Network and Security Engineering teams to execute both customer and internal projects.
  • Diagnosing and providing solutions for network and server performance challenges.
  • Monitoring and sustaining network, server, and Cybersecurity systems/equipment.
  • Assisting with vendor certification evaluations.
  • Supporting vendor product assessments.
  • Once trained and certified, may be required to instruct vendor product training sessions.
  • Developing and delivering tailored training or workshop materials to colleagues or clients in areas of expertise.
  • Availability to respond to after-hours requests as needed in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties on a rotating schedule.
  • Readiness to travel to various locations to support customer initiatives, if necessary.
Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Engineering with substantial exposure to computer systems and hardware. Four (4) years of relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in information technology or information security roles.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting computer systems, networking infrastructure, and software applications.
  • Familiarity with Web Proxy, Firewall, and Security Endpoint Protection technologies is advantageous.
  • Understanding of virtual machine technology is beneficial.
  • Solid grasp of HTTP, TCP/IP, WCCP, DNS, SSL, Active Directory, and DHCP.
  • Experience in a virtualized server and application environment, such as VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, or similar.
  • Ability to create scripts using programming languages such as Perl, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Experience utilizing an API tool for constructing and utilizing REST APIs, including modifying existing API calls and creating new ones from scratch.
  • Proficient in extracting data from web servers using XML or JSON.
  • Enthusiasm for designing and implementing innovative technology for complex Cybersecurity solutions.
  • Network+ and/or Security+ Certification or equivalent.
  • General familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio).
  • Capability to address end-user issues effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Cybersecurity tools (NMap, Metasploit, etc.) is a plus.
Software development and scripting capabilities are advantageous.
Familiarity with DLP, Windows Server, Windows 10 Pro, Windows 11, Linux, CentOS.
Experience with Automic Automation or Okta Workflows.
Exposure to SASE, SSE, ZTNA, and ZTA.
Experience with databases such as DB2, MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL.
Proficiency in using Postman, JMeter, ReadyAPI, ACCELQ, REST-Assured.
