We are seeking a Security Operations Specialist to thrive in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering results. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) program and assist in the execution of all compliant SCI security policies and procedures concerning classified materials, documents, and equipment.
The successful candidate should possess a solid understanding of industrial security regulations and federal security requirements outlined in the NISPOM and DOD SCI Manuals.
This role involves supporting ongoing preparations for customer reviews and actively participating in those assessments, ensuring a proven track record of successful outcomes. The candidate must be familiar with established protocols for handling, storing, and maintaining records, as well as granting access to restricted programs for personnel and visitors. Responsibilities also include conducting security education and training programs for SCI and investigating security breaches while preparing reports that recommend preventive measures.
While this position primarily operates on a first shift, Monday through Friday, there may be occasional business travel and the need to work outside standard hours, including nights and weekends, to fulfill mission requirements.
The selected candidate will support RMS Cyber & Intelligence across various locations.Key Responsibilities include:
- Administering the SCI Nomination process, including processing, logging, and preparing incoming and outgoing SCI Nomination packages.
- Conducting annual Security Education and Training Awareness (SETA) requirements alongside program off-sites; providing briefings for Foreign Travel and managing reporting obligations.
- Overseeing classified document control, including maintaining logs for documents in transition.
- Performing administrative security functions, such as organizing and filing all program security documentation.
- Maintaining end-of-day logs, safe checks, visitor logs, and pass-down logs.
- Providing security escorting for uncleared personnel as necessary.
- Processing and tracking incoming and outgoing Visit Authorization Requests.
- Executing COMSEC requirements for Cyber and Intelligence Programs.
- Assisting the Prime CSSO with additional security support as required by the RMS Advanced Programs Manager and local customers.
Knowledge of security requirements and Operations Security (OPSEC).
Familiarity with the DoD National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), ICD 705 Physical Security Specifications, and related guidelines.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings.
Experience in roles such as Facility Security Officer (FSO), Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO), or equivalent.
Strong written, verbal, and customer interaction skills.
Capability to manage multiple tasks while remaining organized; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with SIMS and DISS management.
Strong scheduling and coordination abilities.
Experience in interpreting, evaluating, and analyzing Program Security Guides and Government Directives, including NISPOM, ICD, and DoD Manuals.
Desired Skills:
Certifications and/or experience in Personnel Security.
Certifications and/or experience related to ICD 705 Physical Security.
Successful completion of the FSO for Possessing Facilities CDSE or equivalent course.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with a professional demeanor characterized by tact and diplomacy.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and contribute significantly in a collaborative environment.
