Job Summary:

Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Office Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our healthcare team and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including scheduling, registration, and billing.
  • Act as a super user for our scheduling, registration, and billing systems, providing training and assistance to others as needed.
  • Perform complex or specialized functions, such as radiology scheduling, at a high level of competency.
  • Utilize knowledge of HMOs, managed care, and other third-party insurers to troubleshoot insurance issues.
  • Assist with training and orienting staff as needed.
  • Provide cross-coverage as needed and float to other practices when help is required.
  • Assist with special projects as directed.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Participate in process improvement groups and trainings on care coordination, patient population management, and communication skills.
  • Extended and/or weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of applicable work experience required.
  • Some additional training in office systems or post-high school education preferred.
  • Ambulatory care experience a plus, but not required.

Primary care experience a plus, but not required.
