Job Summary:

The Compounding Pharmacy Technician will work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist to prepare and compound medications in a clean room environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare medications for accurate compounding.
  • Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages of medications.
  • Accurately label and package medications.
  • Participate in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication-related incidents.
  • Ensure pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
  • Inspect equipment and document any equipment failures or defects.
  • Assist with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Licensed or registered (if required by the state).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform basic and intermediate-level mathematical calculations.
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience.
  • Successful enrollment and completion of the OCH designated training course within 6 months of hire (if licensure and/or training course is required by the state).
