Position Overview:
The Entry-Level Banking Associate plays a vital role in representing Middlesex Savings Bank to both the public and fellow team members. This position is centered around enhancing the customer experience, achieving operational excellence, and fostering strong relationships while upholding the Bank's core values and mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Understand and anticipate customer needs, providing tailored product and service recommendations. Build and nurture customer relationships to drive new business opportunities, leveraging collaboration with business partners when necessary. Proficiently handle all teller transactions, open personal and basic business accounts, and manage domestic wire transfers.
- Operational Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and quality of all tasks performed. Maintain a solid understanding of the Bank's digital offerings and other products, staying updated on alerts and communications from the institution.
- Compliance and Security: Adhere to all compliance, security, and risk management protocols. Maintain proficiency in regulatory standards and comply with all Bank policies, including confidentiality and communication guidelines.
- Team Collaboration: Actively participate as a member of the branch team, contributing to team objectives and supporting branch supervisors in implementing policies and creating a positive work environment.
- Professionalism: Demonstrate reliability in completing tasks and managing time effectively. Communicate ideas clearly and professionally, supporting the strategic goals of the branch and the Bank.
- Decision-Making: Understand and follow Bank policies and procedures, recognizing potential risks and escalating issues to branch supervisors as necessary. Make consistent and dependable decisions that align with the Bank's values.
- Additional Duties: Perform various functions within the scope of authority to deliver exceptional service to customers and colleagues. Undertake other related tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Some college coursework is preferred.
Experience:
- 6-12 months of experience in a teller or customer service role within the banking sector; or a recent graduate of the Banker Trainee Program is required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in basic math principles and capable of performing fundamental mathematical tasks.
- Strong customer service, sales, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Intermediate technology skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends.
- Flexibility in scheduling and work location is necessary.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must obtain Notary Public designation within six months of employment.
