Job Overview

Position Summary

This role is pivotal in aiding the development of quality systems and enhancing product quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the formulation and enhancement of quality systems to drive product quality improvements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans that align with customer expectations.
  • Work autonomously while collaborating with team members.
  • Analyze program requirements and prepare effective quality plans, procedures, and resource allocations to ensure optimal quality support.
  • Review and endorse engineering/test documentation, ensuring quality requirements are met.
  • Collect, organize, and report on product and process information to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Support ongoing quality systems through internal audits and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Engage in product quality improvement initiatives and participate in review boards.
  • Assess and manage non-conforming materials.
  • Provide technical assistance to assembly, testing, and inspection teams, including the development of inspection criteria and methods.
  • Address customer quality concerns effectively.
  • Initiate and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Support the deployment of Statistical Process Control (SPC) initiatives.
  • Contribute to supplier selection and enhancement processes, including on-site audits and evaluation of prototypes.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers as necessary.
  • Promote and uphold the organization's mission, values, and culture.
  • Attend relevant meetings to stay informed and engaged.
  • Prepare comprehensive quality engineering reports and recommendations.
  • Regularly report on progress and status, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Foundational technical expertise and domain knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of ISO Standards, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical analysis.
  • ASQ certification preferred; familiarity with ISO Standards and Six Sigma tools is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret military specifications and read technical blueprints.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, communication, and writing skills.
  • Proficient in problem identification and driving effective corrective actions.
