Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing therapeutic and diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures, providing high-quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
  • Patient Positioning: Position patients accurately and select anatomic and technical factors to ensure high-quality images.
  • Radiopharmaceutical Administration: Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  • Radiation Safety: Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Image Submission: Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report any potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and orderly department, adhering to infection control and safety standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a Nuclear Medicine certification program.
  • Experience: No experience required, but a strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles and practices is essential.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification and either Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) certification and registration.
Work Environment

This is a PRN/per diem shift position, working in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment. You will be required to stand and walk frequently, use vision and depth perception, and lift/carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. A strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment are essential for success in this role.
