Job Overview

Axis Automation is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Controls Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the preparation, installation, commissioning, debugging, and customer run-off events for custom manufacturing equipment at our customer facilities.

The ideal candidate will have relevant work experience in Controls, excellent communication skills, and a strong attitude. You will work closely with our Controls Engineers, Project Managers, and customer points of contact to ensure seamless execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, install, commission, debug, and perform customer run-off events for custom manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform field service calls, contractually required machine maintenance, and update customer machinery.
  • Troubleshoot existing equipment and liaise with customer points of contact.
  • Assist with debugging and commissioning of equipment at the Axis Automation facility.

Requirements:

  • 2 or more years of experience in Controls Engineering.
  • Experience in multiple PLC platforms (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Beckhoff, Keyence) is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • Well-versed in reading electrical prints for troubleshooting and commissioning electrical controls systems.
  • Experience with multiple robotic manufacturers (ABB, Fanuc, Kawasaki, Kuka, Nachi) is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot control system wiring, safety circuitry, and PLC/robot code.
