Position Summary:

The Warehouse Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining accuracy and efficiency in the allocation of inbound trailers to dock doors while delivering exceptional customer service to drivers and visitors. This position also involves assigning tasks to warehouse personnel, monitoring key performance indicators, and assisting with billing processes. The Warehouse Clerk is accountable for upholding quality standards and ensuring a positive experience for all facility visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become proficient in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and understand all operational procedures within the warehouse office, including necessary reports and documentation.
  • Accurately log incoming trailers, verifying manifests and trailer numbers against driver sign-ins.
  • Assign incoming trailers to the correct dock doors and warehouse staff.
  • Log outgoing trailers accurately against driver sign-ins.
  • Review and manage outbound paperwork, directing loads to the appropriate docks.
  • Prepare all necessary documentation for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Communicate essential information to customers via phone, email, or other correspondence.
  • Delegate tasks to warehouse employees as needed.
  • Oversee reporting responsibilities for warehouse operations.
  • Support accounts receivable by ensuring accurate invoicing for services rendered.
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus, effective planning, time management, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills to enhance departmental operations.
  • Maintain qualifications for warehouse duties, including operating forklifts and performing packaging and office tasks as required. Dedicate up to 10% of weekly hours to executing productive tasks to support team objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in a warehouse setting preferred.
  • Ability to be trained on the WMS system.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including problem-solving, active listening, and conflict resolution.
  • Flexible availability.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to analyze data and interpret supply chain information.
