Logistics Support Coordinator Job Description

Reports To: Expeditor

Grade: Non-exempt

Function: The Logistics Support Coordinator is tasked with executing driving routes for the collection and delivery of donations to the warehouse, designated donation points, and donor residences.

  • Accountable for the safety and secure operation of the vehicle and other assigned tools. Promptly report any incidents involving the vehicle, personal injury, or property damage to the immediate supervisor.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle and communicate any issues to the supervisor without delay.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exterior on a daily basis.
  • Organize daily routes based on assigned pickups and make scheduled communications, including donation boxes.
  • Represent The Salvation Army with professionalism and maintain courteous interactions with clients. Adhere to the company's guidelines consistently.
  • Maintain precise records and comply with communication protocols.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading the vehicle while ensuring the secure handling of items.
  • Assist Thrift Store staff with deliveries as needed.
  • Guide and oversee the Truck Helper.
  • Support the work therapy initiatives of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory DMV record.
  • Capability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Skilled in reading maps and organizing daily route plans.
  • Proficient in using an iPad equipped with GPS, texting, and vehicle inspection reporting.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Medical certification may be necessary.
  • Passing a DOT Physical is a requirement for this position.
