Position Summary:

The Warehouse Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining accuracy and efficiency in the assignment of incoming trailers to dock doors while delivering exceptional customer service to drivers and visitors. This position also involves overseeing the workflow of warehouse personnel, monitoring key performance indicators, and assisting with billing processes. The Warehouse Clerk is accountable for ensuring quality standards and customer satisfaction for all facility visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become proficient in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and understand all relevant operations within the warehouse office, including necessary reports and documentation.
  • Accurately log incoming trailers, verifying manifests and trailer numbers against driver sign-ins.
  • Assign incoming trailers to the correct dock doors and warehouse staff.
  • Accurately log outgoing trailers against driver sign-ins.
  • Review outbound documentation and allocate outbound loads to the appropriate docks.
  • Prepare all necessary paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments accurately.
  • Communicate essential information to customers via phone, email, or other correspondence.
  • Delegate tasks to warehouse staff as required.
  • Manage reporting responsibilities for warehouse operations.
  • Support accounts receivable in generating accurate invoices for services rendered.
  • Exhibit strong customer focus, effective planning, time management, problem-solving skills, and provide timely communication to support departmental operations.
  • Maintain qualifications to perform duties within warehouse operations, including operating forklifts and performing packaging and office tasks as needed. Dedicate up to 10% of weekly hours to executing productive tasks to enhance skills and support the team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in a warehouse setting preferred.
  • Ability to be trained on the WMS system.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including problem-solving, active listening, and conflict resolution.
  • Flexible availability to meet operational needs.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse workgroups.
  • Proficient in data analysis techniques and supply chain interpretation.
