Position Summary:

The Warehouse Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining operational accuracy and efficiency by managing the assignment of incoming trailers to designated dock doors while ensuring exceptional customer service for drivers and visitors. This position also involves overseeing warehouse staff assignments, monitoring key performance indicators, and assisting with billing processes. The Warehouse Clerk is accountable for upholding quality standards and delivering outstanding service to all facility visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become proficient in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and understand all essential operations within the warehouse office, including relevant reports and documentation.
  • Accurately log incoming trailers, verifying manifests and trailer numbers against driver check-ins.
  • Assign incoming trailers to the correct dock doors and warehouse personnel.
  • Ensure accurate logging of outgoing trailers against driver check-ins.
  • Review outbound documentation and allocate outbound loads to the appropriate docks.
  • Prepare all necessary paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Communicate essential information to customers via phone, email, or other correspondence.
  • Delegate tasks to warehouse staff as needed.
  • Oversee reporting responsibilities for warehouse operations.
  • Support accounts receivable by ensuring accurate invoicing for services rendered.
  • Demonstrate a strong customer focus, effective planning, time management, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills to enhance departmental operations.
  • Maintain qualifications for warehouse duties, including operating forklifts and performing packaging and administrative tasks as required. Dedicate up to 10% of weekly hours to executing productive tasks to maintain skills and support the team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in a warehouse setting preferred.
  • Ability to be trained on the WMS system.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including problem-solving, active listening, and conflict resolution.
  • Flexible availability to meet operational needs.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficient in data analysis and supply chain interpretation.
