Your Role

In the capacity of Senior Manager of Billing and Collections, you will spearhead the Billing & Collections teams at Catalis. This pivotal role is essential for guaranteeing precise order processing, customer invoicing and renewals, cash collection, and the implementation of internal controls while overseeing critical platforms and systems. As a key member of the finance team, you will engage extensively with sales and operations to bolster go-to-market strategies, scalability, and strategic growth, aligning with the company’s objectives. This position offers a hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide, manage, and cultivate efficient billing and collections teams, promoting operational excellence and professional development.
  • Oversee the processes related to orders, billing, renewals, and cash collections, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely customer interactions.
  • Guarantee that customer invoices are meticulously prepared with all necessary documentation and dispatched promptly.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure precise accounting outputs and protect company assets, while developing relevant policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in billing and collections.
  • Collaborate with financial statement auditors to meet audit and disclosure obligations.
  • Assist with system-related initiatives managed by Corporate Operations and the Finance Department, particularly focusing on billing systems like Salesforce and NetSuite.
  • Foster an environment that promotes maximum productivity, service effectiveness, personal growth, and teamwork.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to employees, department leaders, management, auditors, vendors, and clients.
  • Engage with various stakeholders across the organization, including Corporate Accounting, Tax, FP&A, Legal, HR, Sales, and IT.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate or public accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role overseeing billing and collections teams.
  • Preferred: Experience in a software-as-a-service environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and the systematic aspects of billing and collections.
  • Experience in supporting accounting operations and reporting across multiple business units, coupled with strong accounting research capabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of sales tax implications related to billing.
  • Experience with systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Kantata, and Workday is advantageous.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, along with a strong customer focus.
