SUMMARY

Haas Automation is in search of a skilled professional for the role of Senior Procurement Specialist at our headquarters. This position is crucial as we broaden our global presence and establish manufacturing operations across various locations. The successful candidate will engage with senior leadership within the Procurement Engineering division to evaluate, formulate, and implement sourcing strategies aimed at surpassing business objectives related to cost, quality, service, and delivery.

In this capacity, you will spearhead numerous sourcing initiatives with suppliers globally. Collaborating closely with the engineering department, you will assist product managers in procurement for both new product development and existing offerings. You will play a pivotal role in the Global Strategic Sourcing organization, liaising with counterparts worldwide.

The Senior Procurement Specialist is an adept supply chain professional tasked with representing the organization in the sourcing, strategic selection, and oversight of vendors, with the objective of acquiring top-quality products punctually and under agreed terms, while operating with minimal supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Utilizing independent judgment to procure tooling that aligns with demand, considering factors such as pricing, delivery costs, demand levels, timing, market trends, and potential design changes.
  2. Coordinating product deliveries to optimize inventory levels while fulfilling production and service requirements.
  3. Conducting market research to identify potential vendors and assess their capabilities to meet business needs.
  4. Overseeing the qualification and integration of products from new suppliers in collaboration with internal engineering, quality, and production teams.
  5. Negotiating cost reductions and ensuring favorable terms through market analysis and strategic methodologies.
  6. Employing quantitative analysis and manufacturing knowledge to conduct should-cost evaluations of products.
  7. Monitoring supplier performance and providing feedback through scorecards, addressing any quality or delivery issues as necessary.
  8. Reviewing key purchasing metrics and adjusting them to meet current business demands.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not entail supervisory duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of specifications and blueprint interpretation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Minimal travel may be required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with SAP or ERP software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or Engineering from an accredited institution, along with 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret business publications, technical documents, and governmental regulations in English. Capable of writing routine reports and business correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Proficient in basic mathematical operations and able to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. May occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
