Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Roadway Engineer to join our team at DRMP. As a Roadway Engineer in our organization, you will play a critical role in planning, designing, organizing, and recommending roadway design solutions for NCDOT, County, and municipal roadway improvement projects.

Your assignments may include a diverse variety of transportation-related projects such as new alignment, widening, milling and resurfacing, bicycle & pedestrian, highway safety, intersection, interchange, and design-build projects across all phases of a project life from advanced planning to final design.

Main Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Design Engineering: Perform engineering design including horizontal alignments, vertical alignments, 3D modeling, and cross-sections, pavement design, and temporary traffic control plans, quantities, and cost estimates.">
  • Project Documentation: Prepare project documentation including Typical Section Packages, Pavement Design Package, Design Variations and Exceptions, Estimated Quantity Reports, and Project Meeting minutes.">
  • Task Production and Maintenance: Assist Project Managers and Senior Engineers with roadway design task production and maintaining project documentation.">
  • Engineering Investigations and Planning Work: Conduct engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks including collection and analysis of data.">
  • Routine Calculations and Feasibility Evaluation: Perform routine calculations and participate in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering">
  • Must possess Fundamentals of Engineering (EI) certification or ability to obtain within six months">
  • 1-4 years of transportation design experience">
  • Familiarity with NCDOT production procedures are preferred but not required">
  • Familiarity with Bentley's MicroStation and Open Roads Designer preferred">
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills">
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines">
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment">

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $70,000-$110,000 depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
