Job Summary
We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Professional to join our team at TEP GROUP. As a Site Characterization Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating geotechnical site characterization activities, including setting up subcontracts with drillers, testing laboratories, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate geotechnical site characterization activities.
  • Perform geotechnical site characterization activities, logging of geotechnical field explorations, as well as coordination of field and laboratory testing.
  • Prepare geotechnical data and geotechnical recommendation reports.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses. Assist with drawing, specification, and cost-estimate preparation.
  • Perform calculations using engineering formulas.

Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, geotechnical or related engineering degree.
  • 0-2+ years of experience working as a Geotechnical Technician.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • EI preferred.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with geotechnical subsurface investigations and foundations assessments.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, MS Excel in particular.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team as well as on their own.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to complete work using CAD or manual drafting techniques preferred.
  • GINT geotechnical engineering software experience preferred.

Working Conditions:
This position has approximately 50% of time spent outdoors, on-site, exposed to the elements of nature working under normal construction conditions, and approximately 50% spent in a climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.
