About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our team in Leavenworth, Kansas. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, educating patients about mental and medical conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their families.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Treating patients and monitoring their progress
  • Educating patients and their families about mental and medical conditions
  • Providing advice and emotional support to patients and their families
  • Running therapeutic groups and psychiatric crisis intervention
  • Administering medications and monitoring responses to medication
  • Conducting screenings and evaluations and monitoring patients
  • Documenting all treatments, medications, and other patient care aspects in medical records
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • A current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
  • A working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
  • A working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
  • A working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care
