Position Overview
At ROOTS, we refer to our educators as "Mentors" because we focus on the holistic development of our students. If you possess a passion for teaching music and guiding students to reach their full potential, both within and beyond the studio, we invite you to consider this opportunity.
Responsibilities of ROOTS Music Mentors include:
- Instructing students in instrumental techniques, scales, sight reading, and music theory.
- Assisting students in preparing for auditions and live performances.
- Maintaining communication with parents regarding their child's progress, particularly for our students aged 7-17.
- Participating in bi-monthly staff meetings, seasonal performances, and occasional training sessions.
Working Hours: (Mentors are expected to be available for a minimum of 2 days during the following hours)
- Monday-Thursday: 2:00 PM - 8:30 PM
- Friday: 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
All lessons are conducted in our expansive studio, which features 14 music studios, including a band rehearsal space and two studios equipped with baby grand pianos.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of prior teaching experience is required.
- Applicants must be willing to commit to at least one year of consistent teaching.
- All music educators must pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
- Consistency is essential; applicants with ongoing tours or regular gigs during peak teaching hours will not be considered.
