The Strategic Business Consultant will play a pivotal role in developing and supporting the formulation of new requirements documents arising from use-case evaluations and discovery sessions. Responsibilities include engaging in use case discovery meetings, aiding the team in various strategic planning initiatives, and generating analytical documentation. Key activities encompass capturing business workflows during discovery sessions; posing inquiries grounded in thorough logical assessment of the information provided by clients regarding their business operations; compiling and organizing all business requirements gathered by team members; independently drafting process documentation based on the collated business requirements; continuously evaluating any logical discrepancies or gaps in the team's understanding of the business processes throughout a use-case, from initiation to the deployment of the solution; drafting test scenarios for each process and identifying all potential paths for solution testing; executing test scenarios collaboratively with the team and participating in the evaluation of the solution; and engaging in additional tasks such as participating in demonstrations of system capabilities for various stakeholders, agencies, conferences, and educational gatherings, as well as creating workflows, PowerPoint presentations, graphs, charts, and visuals for diverse requirements.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Gather and meticulously document business and systems requirements
  • Evaluate business processes and system inefficiencies
  • Exhibit proficiency in business processes and process differentiation
  • Analyze and synthesize business requirements, including identifying patterns and conceptualizing processes
  • Understand and negotiate the needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders
  • Facilitate and support the implementation of business solutions by fostering relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; executing necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and outcomes; recognizing and leveraging improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities
  • Produce necessary analytical documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plan)
  • Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide essential guidance to testers during the QA process, serve as the functional expert to assist in resolving problem reports, and support change requests and business processes
  • Identify non-standard, inefficient, and deficient business processes and recommend, develop, and implement process enhancements per Government approval
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen with an Active Secret Level Clearance, per Government requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 2-4 years prior management or technology consulting experience, preferably in the Public Sector/Federal Government
  • Strong understanding of Public Sector/Federal Government contracting, preferably experience working with Government contracts and within their respective contracting writing systems
  • Experience gathering requirements remotely, working in a fully remote setting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies
  • Experience in requirements development for applications, experiences, websites, products, and services that balance user needs, business objectives, and technological constraints
  • Experience producing client-facing deliverables and presentations, and participating in client meetings
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Able to function, adapt, and thrive in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and motivation to deliver the highest quality work
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Self-organized and structured, with the ability to define your own tasks
  • Expert with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Working Environment & Conditions

This role operates in a professional office environment with a noise level that is generally low to moderate. The position routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office role, and has a noise level that is mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may necessitate the incumbent to sit for extended periods. The incumbent must be able to read, perform simple math calculations, and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
