Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists to provide high-quality assistance in compounding, distribution, and dispensing of medication and other pharmaceutical-related supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing, coordinating, and implementing high-quality and cost-effective pharmacy technician services.
  • Adhere to all policies and regulations regarding sterile compounding practice.
  • Maintain necessary record-keeping and training documentation pertinent to areas of responsibility.
  • Inspect assigned areas monthly for proper storage and labeling of medications and expired medications.
  • Assist in identifying and researching problems and issues related to department budget and patient billing.
  • Attend educational seminars and in-services to maintain or enhance skills and competencies.
  • Adhere to pharmacy policies, procedures, and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Florida Registered Certified Pharmacy Technician license.
  • One year of hospital experience preferred.
  • Sterile and non-sterile compounding experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of automated dispensing/storage technology preferred.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
